This MAb recognizes a 60 kDa antigen associated with the mitochondria in cells. It is a part of a new panel of reagents, which recognizes subcellular organelles or compartments of cells. These markers may be useful in identification of these organelles in cells, tissues, and biochemical preparations. It recognizes an antigen associated with the mitochondria in cells from a wide variety of animals including insects and bacteria. It can be used to stain the mitochondria in cell or tissue preparations and can be used as a mitochondrial marker in subcellular fractions. It produces a spaghetti-like pattern in normal and malignant cells and may be used to stain mitochondria of cells in frozen tissue sections. It can also be used with paraformaldehyde fixed frozen tissue or cell preparations.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. Biotium CF640R TUNEL Assay Apoptosis Detection Kit
In the TUNEL assay, TdT enzyme catalyzes the addition of labeled dUTP to the 3'- ends of the internucleosomal DNA strand breaks that are a hallmark of apoptosis. The CF dye TUNEL Assay Apoptosis Detection Kit employs dUTP conjugated to Biotium's exceptionally bright and photostable CF fluorescent dyes, for single step fluorescent TUNEL labeling of fixed cells or tissues for analysis by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry. This kit contains CF640R which has an excitation/emission of 642/662 nm. The kit has reagents sufficient for 50 reactions.
Biotium Dual Apoptosis Assay with NucView 488 Caspase-3 Substrate and CF594 Annexin V (50 assays)
This kit includes two apoptosis markers, NucView 488 Caspase-3 Substrate (green) and CF594 conjugated Annexin (red), for profiling apoptotic cells with respect to two important apoptosis events, caspase-3 activation and phosphatidylserine (PS) translocation, by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.Unlike traditional fluorogenic caspase substrates that inhibit caspase activity or require cell lysis, NucView 488 a novel fluorogenic caspase-3 substrate, is non-inhibitory to caspases, and permits apoptosis detection within individual intact cells, in real-time. The non-fluorescent substrate is cleaved by caspase-3/7 in apoptotic cells releasing a high-affinity DNA dye that migrates to the nucleus and emits bright green fluorescence, allowing caspase-3/7 detection and visualization of apoptotic nuclear morphology. Exposed PS on apoptotic cells is detected by Annexin V conjugated to CF594 (Abs/Em: 593/614 nm), a bright and photostable deep red dye spectrally similar to Texas Red.

Ethidium Homodimer III, also known as EthD-III, is a red fluorescent dead cell stain for bacteria and mammalian cells. It is a cell membrane-impermeant nucleic acid dye that only stains dead cells with damaged cell membranes. Ethidium Homodimer III was developed by Biotium as a superior alternative to Ethidium Homodimer I. The absorption and emission spectra are similar, but EthD-III is 45% brighter. Ethidium Homodimer III is useful for detecting dead bacteria or mammalian cells by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry.
